To me....it's been an absolute miracle that there hasn't been anymore attacks on US soil since 9/11.
When I seen some posts about the WTS putting NYC property up for sell and making plans to move to upstate NY, it made me think they were concerned about possible attacks on NYC.
If so, where's their faith in Jehovah? Surely, he would prevent anything from harming his "channel on earth".

the wts has repeatedly stated that one of the main reasons for disfellowshiping is to "keep the congregation clean.
" another reason is to shame the offender into toeing the wt party line, although they don't quite put it that way.. on the other hand, there are numerous examples of elder hounders hunting down and dfing people who have totally and voluntarily extricated themselves from the "congregation" and its members for years.
obviously, they aren't bothering the congregation(s) or active dubs at all, and obviously they aren't interested into being "shamed" in order to get back in.. one can only conclude that the motives of the elder hounders are vindictive.
Thing I don’t get is not ONCE have they told my why they need to talk to me. Only thing they have given me are: “something urgent has come up”, “need your time”, “we want to tell you about assembly”, “you have not been to meetings”, “a serous matter has come to our attention”. I guess I feel that if they have not even had the decency to tell me what I am being charged with I don’t owe them anything.
Hoggieman....."ask sincerely" in the e-mail if he can give you "more details" as to what he wants to talk about. Afterwards worded documentation to discontinue harassment would be good. I also like the suggestion to get restraining order to prevent unwelcome visits by the elders.
I always wanted to "just leave them alone" the ones who left. Some elders are very vindictive. I think it gives them a sense of power & authority to hunt these ones down and threaden them with DF'ing. Also, in a sick way I think some of them love to hear all the dirt.

i wanted to introduce myself, and need some advice.. i dissassociated myself back in 1995. haven't had much of anything to do with my family since then.
they are all witnesses, and very dedicated to their beliefs.
so after 15 years without a simple howdy from them, now they are coming around again and being very nice, but it reminds me of when people would have parts in the ministry school...it seems rehearsed and fake.
Does the WTS still have the elders periodically check to see if DF/DA ones were interested in coming back and getting re-instated? Seems like I remember this being around the time leading up to inviting people to the Memorial.
Wow....15 yrs go by and not even a simple howdy. That's some hardcore JW's there. I would try to be a family again and see where it goes. It's sad that you can't have normal family relationships if you disagree with or don't want to life by WTS beliefs.
Something I regret from being in JW's is all the time I spend getting to know fake JW siblings when I could have spent more time visiting, doing things with and getting to know my real siblings.

I really feel bad for the ones over the years with a good conscience that were stuck in the religion because they thought they were doing the right thing. What I liked about JW's was that it was full of bright, talented people.(especially the youth) However, their true potential to contribute to human society was not allowed to develop. Practically every sort of pursuit was discouraged by the WTS. Then, if someone did land a decent job or career....it wasn't enough that the WTS was already snooping in your bedroom.....they wanted to intrude at your work with their WT logic and reasoning on personal matters.
